Hi, I’m Dieniar, an illustrator and a rookie musician from Indonesia. I wrote my song, recorded it in my bedroom, mixed, and produced it myself.

Speaking about my first single, I didn’t plan this song that much, it just flowed in my free time. “Fine Light” was all started from my hobbies; self-learning and home recording. It turns out, quite serious at the end. I made this song right at the beginning of quarantine due to COVID-19 around March 2020. Inspired by my home environment and imagination, I finally wrapped it up. At first, I just wanted to make instrumental music with lo-fi beats. However, as it went along, the elements were reduced.

I made the music first so that I could feel the mood of the music, then I made the lyrics. The verse aims to engage, invite, communicate, blend listeners with the song. The chorus aims to show affection, an attempt to calm someone or ourselves. For all those who are having problems, whether it’s hilly or just a speck, whether it’s boring, sad, or lonely, this song wants to accompany you so you can feel and imagine things around when you are alone or maybe just imagine small things that can make you feel better. Sometimes there are so many things around us that we don’t realize that they exist. This song is a reminder that if we can open our minds and try to calm ourselves, it will help us to be able to overcome whatever we face.

The artwork concept that I made was quite simple, inspired by the situation at home, my imagination, and the mood that I wanted to create from my song. I made the streets empty to describe the current situation. I also want to visualize a comfortable setting with views of the ocean, the moon, and the city at night because I aim to make a pretty chill song and of course it’s related to the lyrics.

Talking about the genre, I am not still quite sure what my genre will be, but of course, music that I listened to affected mine unconsciously, starting from the genres of pop, jazz, r&b, soul, rock, blues, and alternative. Whatever it will be, I hope you will enjoy my song!
